IBM Shows Off 970MP Workstation

An IBM employee has posted pictures from a 4-core 2.5GHz 970MP workstation that was on display at the recent Linux Symposium. He goes on to claim that it will be quiet and a limited production run should be out by the end of the year.

PowerPC GNU/Linux runs natively on PCI-based Apple Power Macintosh, many IBM and Motorola PReP and CHRP workstations, IBM pSeries and iSeries servers, Amiga Power-UP systems, and many embedded platforms that utilize the Motorola/Freescale and IBM/AMCC embedded PowerPC processors. The kernel supports multiple processors (SMP), which works on some Power Macintosh models and IBM servers.
