8641D Blade Announced

Interphase Corp has announced their iNAV 74K, a telecommunications-oriented blade that can carry up to four of Freescale's 8641D processors. The 8641D is a dual-core 7448 system on a chip (SoC) with each core running up to 1.5 GHz, and debuted last year.

PowerPC GNU/Linux runs natively on PCI-based Apple Power Macintosh, many IBM and Motorola PReP and CHRP workstations, IBM pSeries and iSeries servers, Amiga Power-UP systems, and many embedded platforms that utilize the Motorola/Freescale and IBM/AMCC embedded PowerPC processors. The kernel supports multiple processors (SMP), which works on some Power Macintosh models and IBM servers.
