AMCC, the company which purchased the embedded 4xx cores from IBM several years ago, has announced that they are teaming up with Intrinsity to design a 3GHz PowerPC core. Intrinsity, based in Austin Texas, is a small company that designed a 2GHz MIPS core a few years back.
