Relatively recent interesting developments from IBM we haven’t gotten around to posting:

  • An interview with Robert MacFarlan, an IBM Strategist working to spread “awareness, availability, and acceptance of Linux on PowerPC.”
  • XL C/C++ and Fortan compilers have been updated, now supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) AS 3 and AS 4, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 9, and Terra Soft Solutions Y-HPC.
  • The fdprpro post-link optimization tool has been updated for RHEL 4.
  • developerWorks Power Architecture Technology has new articles covering Altivec (with code samples), the Mac Mini, putting the Kuro box to work, and more.
